Monday, October 20, 2025Courage in the Small Things

Key Verse: Zechariah 4:10 — “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin…”

We often think courage is only for the big battles—David facing Goliath, Esther before the king, Daniel in the lion’s den. But most of life isn’t lived in front of giants, palaces, or lions. It’s lived in the quiet moments when nobody is watching. It’s in the decision to keep showing up, even when progress feels invisible.

God delights in small beginnings because He sees the whole story. That seed of faith you planted, that prayer you whispered, that one step toward forgiveness—it all matters. The Kingdom of God moves forward not just in great leaps but in countless small acts of faithfulness.

3 Ways to Practice Courage in the Small Things:

  1. Say yes to today. You don’t need tomorrow’s strength yet. Obey what God asks of you today.

  2. Celebrate small wins. A kind word, a finished task, a prayer prayed—they’re not insignificant. They’re kingdom bricks.

  3. Trust God’s timing. Seeds grow underground before they sprout. Let patience be part of your courage.

Friend, your small act of faith today may be the start of a miracle tomorrow. Don’t wait for a spotlight moment to be brave. God is glorified in the daily “yes.”

Prayer: Lord, give me courage for the little things—the quiet faith steps, the unseen obedience. Remind me that You rejoice over beginnings. Amen.
